surveillance-cameras-400 reports that no one from the Mayor’s office felt compelled to attend the City Council hearing yesterday concerning ways to improve the city’s video-surveillance program (as reported live on twitter by Dustin Slaughter), all opting instead to be present for the visit from Vice President Biden. Biden spent much of the visit railing against Philadelphia’s gun violence record. 


The York Daily Record reports that a man is in custody after a three-hour standoff last night with Philadelphia police. 


As part of a month-long series entitled “Philadelphia Gamechangers,” CBS Philly and KYW Newsradio highlight the work of The Mission to help at-risk youth in Chester before they become caught up in the criminal justice system.
