Photos – Philadelphians Protest Military Assault of Gaza Outside Israeli Consulate

Editor’s Note: This column, by a former contributor to The Declaration, is being left up because, as a publication focused on transparency, we believe that it would be inappropriate for us to erase old pieces. However, this column does not accurately represent the views of The Declaration, which covers issues from a civil liberties standpoint but does not directly take positions on political issues.

Friday afternoon hundreds of supporters of Palestine rallied at the Israeli consulate on John F Kennedy Boulevard in Center City Philadelphia, to protest the latest military action by Israeli Defense Forces in Gaza. At least 120 Palestinians, many children and by many reports mostly civilian, have been killed in aerial bombardment since Israel began its lynching writ-large of the Palestinian people over the kidnapping and death of three teens which the Israeli government says was perpetrated by Hamas. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has shrugged-off international criticism of the assault, including warnings from the United Nations’ High Commissioner on Human Rights, promising that air strikes will continue.

The Declaration unequivocally condemns the actions of the Israeli government, and the complicity of the US government  and especially UN Ambassador Samantha Powers, who has blocked even declarative UN Security Council resolutions against the slaughter of Palestine.

In solidarity with refugees and occupied people everywhere, the Declaration humbly presents this gallery of photos from yesterday’s Free Palestine rally.

So much hate and lies in one “article” and the photos you post. Its disturbing to see how you conveniently ignore the fact that there were also pro-Israel protesters at the same time. These Jewish and Christian protesters stood against the forces of terror presented by these Arab demonstrators and their supporters. Learn what objective journalism is all about before you spread your hate and lies. Shame on you and long live Israel and the Jewish People that will win its battle against the HAMAS enemy in Gaza!!!עם ישראל חי

The reporter on the scene noted that there were pro-Israeli demonstrators that quickly dispersed, I made the decision not to shame them by showing the one that tried to punch a child or by comparing their numbers to those of the Gaza supporters. I don’t see what “terror” was presented by “these Arab demonstrators,” or how that makes sense. Thank you for your advice about objective journalism and all of your very good points, as salaam alaikum.

That’s a very creative reception of either my comment or Mr. Albert’s reporting, maybe you meant to comment on another post that mentions terrorism and 9/11 as one would expect to find where someone was openly supporting them? Or perhaps you’d like to explain the connection, take all the space you need.
