Just last month business man and former prosecutor Ken Trujillo announced his bid for the upcoming mayor’s seat. Also just last month Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey announced the PPD will begin testing body cameras on officers.
Yesterday, the Trujillo campaign blasted out a solicitation email indicating that he supports body cameras on Philadelphia Police officers.
Trujillo’s campaign website also shares some of his beliefs about policing and body cams:
“Ken will make sure that police officers are equipped with effective approaches to fighting crime while respecting people’s rights. Through the best technology, such as body cameras to record officers’ interactions with our citizens, we can make sure we hold officers accountable if they abuse our citizens.”
