Millionaire Dr. William Lomax, the head of PHL Local Gaming LLC, is holding a press conference today to announce that bidding is now open for a proposed gambling center on the 3300 block of S. Front Street. The $367 million proposal, reports Philadelphia Tribune, includes a hotel and restaurant.

City Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown is refusing to answer questions from reporters regarding recent campaign finance violations charges. As part of her agreement with the Ethics Board, she must pay $48,834, according to The Daily News.

Sylvia P. Simms has been appointed to the Philadelphia School Reform Commission (SRC), reports Technically Philly. Simms is “a community advocate and broadband adoption outreach coordinator for Comcast and the Urban Affairs Coalition.”
