The Pennsylvania Department of Education, reports Philadelphia Public School Notebook, has withheld $8.7 million from the school district over the past 18 months – and handed that chunk of change over to charter schools.

Two Easton, PA students’ case went before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eastern District today. Judge Mary McLaughlin issued an injunction against the students’ attempt to sell breast cancer awareness bracelets, according to City Paper.

PA Representative Vanessa Lowery Brown (D-North Philadelphia), reports Daily News, was “snubbed” for violating dress code during PA House proceedings. Her crime? Donning traditional Afro-centric attire to celebrate Black History Month. Her colleague, Rep. W. Curtis Thomas, was ignored for wearing a kufi cap.
