Arrest

The ACLU files a lawsuit on behalf of a Temple student who was charged with disorderly conduct for recording an arrest in 2011. The ACLU alleges that the Philadelphia Police Department has a pattern of arresting those who record arrests.

Pennsylvania dislodges Atlantic City as the second largest gambling market in the U.S. 2012 revenue from slots and table games totaled $3.16 billion.

NRA ad

Mayor Michael Nutter blasts the National Rifle Association’s new television ad, calling it “reprehensible,” and “disgusting.” The ad features President Obama’s daughters.

Gross

The head of the Newspaper Guild Local 10, Dan Gross, submitted his resignation today. Gross is also a columnist at the Philadelphia Daily News. He accepted a buyout package from Daily News management, and his last day at the paper will be February 1st.
